IMPORTANT! Players will be placed on teams on a first-come, first-serve basis as registrations are received. In the event that an additional team cannot be formed (i.e. not enough players), later players will be placed onto a waiting list until enough players (and coaches) register to create a new team. If another team cannot be formed, only the players that registered first will be selected. Any players not placed onto teams will be refunded all fees.

Suffield Summer Baseball will be played in Suffield and surrounding towns like East Granby, Ellington, Enfield, Granby, Somers etc.

Detailed Information :

  • Deadline for registration is June 19 at 11:59PM

  • Games are expected to start July 7th

  • Games will end 2nd or 3rd week in August.

  • Games typically start at 5:30PM or 6:00 PM

  • Somers will host an optional end-of-season tournament in August

  • See the 2013 Summer Baseball Rules (PDF or DOCX) (2014 rules have not been published yet)

Frequently asked questions:

  • Coaches will be selected based on number of players that sign up.

  • Final placement of all players will be conducted based on age, which level the player played in the spring season, and skill level as determined by discussions with current coaches.

  • Summer Baseball objectives are consistent with our Spring objectives, and provides all players the opportunity to expand their skills and enjoyment of the game.

  • Rosters are built fairly large with the expectations that players will miss some games due to summer vacations, etc.

  • Typically, one to two practices are held per week (up to the individual coach)

  • Typically, there are 2 games per week, per team.

  • Other nights may be used for make-ups or to accommodate scheduling conflicts.

  • Games are only played during the week Monday - Thursday.
    This allows for long weekends during the summer months.

  • Schedules will be made after we know how many teams are playing from all towns.
